Ordering and quotes
How do I get a quote?
Call us on 01473 971111, email sales@timbereist.com or use our quote form. The more detail you can give us, the more accurate the quote: product, sizes, quantities, delivery postcode and when you need it.
Can you help me work out what I need?
Yes. Send us your cutting list, a plan, a rough sketch or even a few photos, and we’ll work out the quantities for you. It’s one of the things our customers tell us they value most.
Do you sell to the public as well as the trade?
Yes. We supply builders, joiners, landscapers and other trades, and we’re just as happy to help homeowners with a single project.
Delivery and collection
Do you deliver, and is it free?
We deliver across East Anglia from our yard near Woodbridge, Suffolk. Local delivery is free on most orders. For larger or more distant deliveries, we’ll confirm any charge when we quote, so there are no surprises. See the full list of areas on our delivery page.
How quickly can you deliver?
Usually within 1 to 3 working days, depending on stock and where you are. If you need it for a particular day, let us know when you order.
Will the driver call ahead? Can I book a time?
Yes, our driver will phone before arriving. If you need a specific time slot, ask when you order and we’ll do our best to fit it in.
Can you deliver straight to my customer’s site?
Yes. Just give us the site address and a contact name and number when you order.
How is the delivery unloaded?
Deliveries are unloaded by hand at the kerbside. For long lengths or large orders, it helps to have someone on hand to give the driver a hand. Please make sure there’s safe access for the delivery vehicle.
Can I collect my order?
Yes, collections are by appointment from our yard near Woodbridge. Call us first so we can have your order ready and give you directions.
Products
What’s the difference between C16 and C24 timber?
Both are strength grades for structural timber. C24 is stronger and stiffer than C16, so it can span further and is often specified for joists and rafters. All the carcassing timber we stock is C24 and regularised to a consistent size.
Should I use treated or untreated timber?
Treated timber has been pressure-treated with preservative to protect it from rot and insect attack, so it’s the right choice outdoors, in contact with the ground or anywhere it may get damp. Untreated timber is fine for dry internal work. If you’re not sure, tell us what it’s for and we’ll advise.
Is your timber certified?
Timbereist holds FSC® (FSC-C134890) and PEFC Chain of Custody certification, so we can supply certified timber and sheet materials for projects that need it, with the certified claim shown on your invoice. Ask for our FSC® certified products, and let us know which certification your project requires when you ask for a quote.
Accounts and payment
Do you offer trade accounts?
Yes. Trade accounts come with monthly credit terms. Call us on 01473 971111 or get in touch to open one.
How can I pay?
We accept debit and credit cards, bank transfer (BACS) and cash, or you can pay monthly on a trade account. For phone orders, we can text or email you a secure link to pay by card.
When are you open?
Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
